Sheet Metal Workers
Sheet Metal Workers
Sheet metal workers build a variety of products from sheets of steel, aluminum, copper and other metals, and they install the finished products. They are responsible for heating, air conditioning and ventilation of commercial buildings and homes. They also design and fabricate outdoor items such as fascia, flashing, awnings, gutters and metal roofs, as well as indoor kitchen equipment and related exhaust systems.
The sheet metal worker is a vital part of the construction industry. Sheet metal workers build products from flat sheets of metal and then install the finished product. They are responsible for the heating, air conditioning, ventilation and exhaust-system ducts in a modern building.
Sheet metal workers do a great deal of shop work, compared to in other construction trades. They fabricate sheet metal in the shop. It is then delivered to the job site for installation. On a new structure, a craftsman works both inside and out at the construction site.
