Roofers install roofs on structures in a variety of materials, including shingles, slate and tile, hot tar, rubber, plastics and composites.

Roofers use a wide range of products and application techniques for applying hot asphalt, hot coal tar pitch, rubber (EPDM and Hypalon), thermo plastics systems, torch applied modified bitumen, and cold applied systems. In addition, they install insulation and gravel and work with slate, cement and clay tile, shingles and waterproofing foundations.
