What is the Indiana Plan?
The Indiana Plan is a pre-apprenticeship training program sponsored by the Indiana State Building Trades. The Indiana Plan recruit, informs and educates eligible program participants o the steps to take to become accepted into construction apprenticeship programs. Trainees participating in the Indiana Plan program can work toward completing his/her GED studies, prepare for the apprenticeship aptitude test, work on good interviewing techniques, job readiness and resume preparation, and counseling on upcoming apprenticeship openings in the construction trades.
How Do I Enroll?
First, you need to complete an application at one of our training facilities (click on link for location). Application are accepted on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or when you attend an Orientation. You must attend orientation which is held every month (contact for orientation dates).
Once you have followed these steps you will be contacted at a later date for testing and an interview.
- Indiana Plan does not offer immediate employment
- Applicants must qualify for the Indiana Plan program and attend classes before job placement
- You must have dependable transportation before placement
- Applicants with felonies are welcome to apply
